We accept referrals for the following clinical indications.

Your check-up at Citrus covers more ground than you might expect.

  1. 1
    🦷
    Implant planning
CBCT imaging provides the precise bone volume, density, and anatomical detail needed for safe and predictable implant placement. Essential for cases involving proximity to the inferior alveolar nerve, the maxillary sinus, or limited bone volume.
  2. 2
    🔬
    Endodontics
3D imaging reveals root canal morphology, periapical pathology, root fractures, and resorption that 2D radiography routinely misses. Invaluable for complex endo cases, retreatments, and cases where the cause of symptoms isn't clear from periapicals alone.
  3. 3
    📊
    Sinus lift assessment
Pre-surgical evaluation of sinus anatomy, membrane thickness, and available bone height for patients requiring sinus augmentation before implant placement.
  4. 4
    ⚙️
    Zygomatic implants
Assessment of zygomatic anatomy for patients with severely resorbed maxillae being considered for zygomatic implant treatment.
  5. 5
    📞
    Other indications
If you have a case that falls outside the above categories, contact us on 0131 285 3308 and we can discuss whether CBCT is appropriate and which scan type best suits the clinical need.

Do You Need a Radiology Report?

CBCT scans require clinical evaluation by a person with Level 2 CBCT training. When you refer a patient, you have two options.

With a report (£110): Our report is prepared by a UK GDC-registered clinician with appropriate qualifications and will normally be delivered by email within 10 working days of the scan. This is the straightforward option if you don’t hold Level 2 training yourself, or if you want a second clinical opinion on a complex case.

Without a report: You’re welcome to receive the scan data without a report, provided you either hold Level 2 CBCT training yourself or have arranged for the scan to be evaluated by another appropriately qualified person. This is your responsibility as the referring clinician under IRMER regulations.

We’d strongly recommend the report option for most referrers, particularly for complex implant or endo cases where a formal radiological assessment adds genuine clinical value.
