Are Dermal Fillers Right for Me?
Dermal fillers are well suited to adults who have noticed volume loss in the face, lips that have thinned with age, deep lines caused by volume loss rather than muscle movement (for which anti-wrinkle injections are more appropriate), or facial contours that have softened over time.
They are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for patients with certain autoimmune conditions or active skin infections in the treatment area, or for patients on specific blood-thinning medications that increase bruising risk. Dr Dimitrios will review your full medical history at the consultation before any treatment is planned.
The consultation is also the right time to be honest about expectations. Dermal fillers can produce genuinely impressive results when placed well. They cannot reverse significant skin laxity or replicate surgical outcomes. What Areas Can Be Treated?
Lip enhancement
Adding volume, definition, and shape to the lips. This is the most popular area for dermal fillers and one where the results are immediately visible. Results last approximately 6 months.
Nasolabial folds
The lines running from the nose to the corners of the mouth, which deepen as volume is lost from the cheeks above them. Filler placed carefully in and around these folds softens their appearance significantly.
Marionette lines
The lines that run downward from the corners of the mouth, which can give the face a downturned expression. Volume restoration in this area lifts the corners of the mouth and refreshes the overall expression.
